Got my Wave invite today, courtesy of Dave. First impressions? Hmm, well it’s not revolutionary, I mean you can do stuff and edit stuff live which is pretty good. It’s a bit like a cross between Google Docs and an email client really. So for Google it’s not revolutionary but for anyone that hasn’t used collaborative online tools it will seem like it is.
Will it replace email, IM, etc? Not until it’s opened up a bit. Imagine you could only email other people using the same ISP, it’s like that at the moment – you can only contact people with Google accounts (and at the moment Google accounts enabled for Google Wave).
Still it’s a bit limited right now as I only know 2 other people on it and i’ve not been given any invites.
